Why would a “touch” lamp not work(by touching it) after a globe has been replaced? I have 2 lamps affected.

Two of my touch lamps globes went, and since replacing them with the same wattage globes,60 watt, they don’t respond to touching to turn them on and off. I now have to use the wall switch to use them which is a nuisance.
