Is it true that tanning lotion with SPF damages tanning bed lamps?

I signed up for 200 tanning minutes at GoodLife fitness, but now they are forcing me to buy their tanning lotions, claiming that my tanning oil with SPF damages their lamps. I searched all over Internet but was unable to find any proof of this fact.

Is this true?
