Is it okay to throw away fluorescent lamps with my regular garbage?

      yea i see them in garbage all the time

      no under no circumstances should they be put in your bin.
      The powder in fluorescent tubes is poisonous they should be disposed of properly
      your local electrical wholesaler will take them off your hands and dispose of them properly

      No - they contain mercury and should be taken to a recycling center.

      Most states have a law concerning this.
