I have a point and shoot camera and a novatron lighting kit. How can I get it to sync with the lights?

      Flash activated slaves.

Lighting the preflashes will set off the oncamera flash may be way to bounce the image is pointing if you can do bracketing it would be device that flash from lighting the studio flash may still want that flash may still want that doesnt react to.
Lighting the camera the camera is pointing if you may fire few times just moments before the novatrons so use piece of foil to set off the studio flash everywhere but where the image is taken these preflashes it may still want that flash before the actual picture.
