How can i find lamps the ones that are tall that have very bright light?

I have one in my room and its tall but its a very dim light, their are types that have very strong lighting but i have no idea which will do that if i buy them, some dont turn on as bright some are really dark…how can i find the good lighting ones?

      go to your neighborhood Home Depot and look for one that is 500 watt or if they don’t have that then 300 watt should do fine. i think they call them torchier or something like that
