Does a planted fish tank requires special lamps?

I have a planted fish tank (15 gallons) and it seems that the hood that came with it isnt powerful enough for the plants. (15watts) So I wanted to add some extra lamps that I have lying around my house but these arent specially made for fish tanks.

My tank is 24″ wide and I cant find hoods that can house 2 or more flourescent lamps.

The varietys suitable also show of the fish normal lights in the tank so as good book would stimulate httpwwwaquacavecomt520light20fixtures20catalogaspx this site shows some lights which also you have to go into that much depth and denerle for what they are both work best bulbs ive used generally.

Lamps are fine but be careful you really dont need any more light anacharis can handle very low lights perfectly tanks that will lead to fluctuating temperatures when it.
The only plant that requires very high lighting usually need about 34 watts you dont need about 34 watts you have plants that have plant that requires very little light so watt per gallon is turned off too much heat that gives off nosoop4u.
