How do I wire two 12V lamps to a voltage transformer?

I’m an absolute beginner with electrics and I need to connect two 12V lamps to a voltage transformer. There is also a switch between the lamps and the transformer. In the transformer, there are 2 slots for input (220V) and 2 slots for the output (12V) so does it matter where I connect the live and the neutral? This is not indicated on the slots. Also, there is no slot for the ground wire, which confuses me even more. So how should I wire all of this? Thanks!
