What type of lighting is best for outdoor sporting events?

Was just kind of wondering what type of lighting Professional sporting events use. Incandescent = cheapest, H.P.S. = most Lumens, M.H. = Best color. Need to light a few outdoor volleyball courts and don’t want to purchase something that will end up being either poor light quality or not enough lumens to light the entire courts.
