I purchased a big package of CFLs hoping to switch out the bulbs all over the house. Well, I have found one socket to date where the CFL will work. Many of my ceiling lights are on dimmers, so I suspect this is the cause for these lights; however, in lamps and other ceiling fixtures (no dimmer), the bulbs do not work. Any ideas??? Thanks.

The reason I ask, is in toyota and lexus cars, the fog lamps will ONLY turn on when only the low beam headlights are on. If the headlights are on high beams, or turned off, the fog lamps will be off too, even though the switch is on.
However, on other cars, chevy and ford, I see their cars with the fog lamps turned on by themselves, even though their headlights are turned off, or when they only have their park lights on.
